Kimono mochi

Hellooo there,

I've been asked to re-introduce quotes, so how about this: If you know any good quotes, send them to me, and then I will pick out a funny/good/interesting one every time I post. Because otherwise you will be getting lame *** quotes like the goo goo dolls, because I'm not really a quote person. So here is the first one, courtesy of Sebastian:

"The sun's not yellow - It's chicken"

So the bottom line is, if no one sends me quotes, I can't post! And wouldn't that be a tragedy now!

Right, back to the post. Monday we had another one of our culture classes (like the dancing one a few weeks ago) and this time it was time for kimono wearing. Well that's what we had been told. We got to wear a not so very spectaculiar yukata (summer kimono thing) which was not exactly very exciting. But hey, it's always fun. I guess. Mine at home (that my mummy made for me!) is way prettier and nicer anyway. Right so, we wore kimono's, then after we'd done that the teacher started chatting away about god knows what. Somewhere in between she mentioned being born in Nagasaki, and then I had a *ping* (envision lightbulb lighting up here) moment. Because for my assignment for tuesday I needed someone who had been in Nagasaki in 1982 for the great flood where lots of people died (yes my assignments are always this cheerful). So right after class I jumped up and took my chance! Unfortuntaly by the time I got home that day I was too sick to actually DO the assignment. Ironic huh. Yes yes I had 2 weeks to do it, should have done it earlier, own stupid fault if you leave it to the last minute, I KNOW!. BUT: I managed to do it on tuesday, and just emailed it to my teacher instead. So all is well.

Oh, yes, I'm feeling much better now, thank you. I just ate something bad I think, lunch didn't agree with me or something, had a rather upset tummy, but am feeling better already. Have started to eat again and Gerrie very kindly brought me bottled water to drink while I was sick because the tap water here was just making me sicker (it taste a bit like chlorine - normally I don't care, but now it just wasn't working) and he brought me chocolate cake too! :D *grin*

Then last night first of all Sachi drops by. He calls me, but he's standing right outside my window so I could hear him. He tried to hide when I then went to find him, but he wasn't very successful. Apparently Nono had wanted to come and see us but once here she really didn't have anything to say, and as we were all sick or tired, they left again. Haha.

Gerrie came over later as well, and he made mochi. Now before you go thinking like my mummy and ask if he had a big rice making machine and a big hammer for the mochi, no, we just used the toaster. The toaster? yes the toaster. It's mochi that you can just put in the toaster and then it's all done! I had a bite because I couldn't resist, but it wasn't exactly really good for my tummy haha. But oh well. It didn't kill me as you can see. It just made me write ridiculously long posts. So I shall leave you know.

Good day!

Jennifer
