Weekly update

ello ello ello!

I only just posted the february 13th thingy, but I thought I wouldn't try to stuff everything into one post, and to make things a bit easier to read, thís post is about my first week of holidays here in Nagasaki. So... what did I do? Like I can remember..

friday: birthday!
saturday... don't remember
sunday.. eh!? stayed at home I think
monday: Andy's birthday! Went to Amu plaza, did some shopping, mostly book stores. It turned out to be a National Holiday (I didn't even know! But it was the official start of spring or something... bean throwing stuff) and so there were LOTS of people around, dance performances and what not. No camera with me so no pictures, so you'll just have to take my word for it! Like I said, had a look in some book stores, and then ran into Andy and party who were having dinner at Dejima wharff, where we joined them for a drink.
Tuesday: see previous post
wednesday... my goodness, do you really want me to remember all this stuff? I probably went to starbucks, that seems logical somehow.

Right enough with the list because I just can't remember! I think wednesday I went to Sahim's house to watch a movie. Was that wednesday? Anyway! I also met up with Masa and Haru last week, we had coffee, shopped around a bit, took some very funny purikura (the little pictures, remember?) and then met up with Tomo and Tom later to go to Milan for dinner (Indian, yum!).

Saturday was Michael's birthday. We were rudely awakened by the fire alarm, no drill, actual alarm. Somebody's breakfast had caught fire somewhere on the 5th floor, goody. That alarm is HELL I can tell you that. It is sooo incredibly loud (well duh) and soo annoying, it was horrible. Got myself out of bed, put some jeans on, coat.. COAT! That's it! That's what I did on friday! I bought a new coat at Chitosepia :D that means... thursday must have been Indian, wednesday movie... I think! No, it was the same day... wait, no! I'm confused!

*rewind*

Wednesday Indian, thursday buying coat and movie, friday... forgot, and back to the fire alarm on saturday! sooo got my jeans on, my new coat, got out my umbrella (it was raining) and there we were, bunch of sleepy heads just hoping someone would come to turn the noise of soon. It took them long enough I must say. No firemen turned up, just a teacher from the uni who lived in the neighbourhood. There was smoke, but no fire I think. So we all went back inside, for a very numb day. Had dinner with Maarten and Andy, Mariko and Michael went out for a birthday dinner together. That brings us to Sunday, where I went to Starbucks again *yay*. Sunday was the start of the Nagasaki Lantern Festival, which will last until the 4th of March. We had asked a few Japanese speaking people to join us to help me translate the Japanese schedule I had printed, unfortunately only one could make it (but who better than Tomo, who actually works at the Starbucks!) so we got a bit of an idea what the festival was about. I think it turns out that basically every day is similar. Lots of dances and stuff. I was planning on going to see part of it that evening, but I was just too tired, so I headed home for an early night for a change. Unfortunately I didn't sleep too well, so today (monday) wasn't the best of days. I bought my plane ticket back to Nagasaki from Tokyo, and am going to try to get some more sleep tonight. Maybe I'll go see the festival tomorrow!

Anyway, here's some Engrish to keep you guys entertained while I get things sorted out in my head, will try not to write such a confusing post next time!!

So... how is everyone else doing!?

x Jenn

I don't know how the rest is doing, but I'm doing just fine.
And yes you should go to the festival, cause that would be fun I think. And if not fun for you then definitely fun for us with all your stories about it ;)
