Woa, another post? Already?

Nice!!!

Now if that isn't a quote.... :P

So what happened? Why another post so soon when posts have been so few lately? Welllll I did something fun AND interesting for a change! Well I thought it was and interesting anyway :P

Like I mentioned in the last post it is insanely warm here in Nagasaki. Today I walked to class without a coat on (I could even have take off my jumper I think) and yesterday was just as nice. So considering my birthday is tomorrow, and the weather has been warm for several days now, no " elf steden tocht" for me here (oma!) but from what I've heard it might be possible in Holland? Boy am I glad I'm here haha. It sounds cold!

Anyway, back to the story. Yesterday I had my final listening test, which went ok I think. After that a bunch of us decided to go to Dejima Wharff to have a drink and enjoy the sun. So while sipping a glass of whine and enjoying some nibbles (the squid tentacle thingies on the picture were NOT mine, though I did try a bite) we watched the sun set over the harbour. Now doesn't that sound lovely! It felt like an early summer evening, it was so nice! Anyway, no time to doddle (is that how you write it?) because we were going to Richard's concert later that night. He is in this Japanese metal/rock band and he was going to play for the first time with them (for an audience that is). It was an actual concert, there were other bands playing and stuff as well. Richard's band " Seek" was first up, so we had a quick bite to eat and made our way to Drum B7 or something, the venue. All of the Dutch people went, and we brought along some other people aswell. Considering there were relatively few people there (max 30? not even?) we stood out, and I think the Japanese people there didn't realise why we were there until Richard came on stage :D

Seek was awesome. Richard looked a little nervous at first, but hey, that's allowed! He looked very Japanese rocker in his new outfit and rocker hair-do, and he stood out like crazy being rather tall, but he fit in, it was really cool. Well done Richard, we're proud of our star ;)

There were two more bands after Seek, and considering Seek looked fairly standard metal/rock band-ish, it was a bit of a shock to see what came on stage next!! This band were wearing these Japanese gang outfits (I think - sort of saw something like that in a movie hehe) and boy was it LOUD! But the band wasn't the most surprising part, it was the fans. My first thought was: what the f***! (excuse my french). And then I couldn't stop laughing for a while... and then I took pictures and made movies! :D

There were these barriers, in this tiny little place, with hardly any people, and it made me wonder why. Well, they have a function, and it wasn't for what I thought they'd be for!!! These fairly normal looking girls (no punk/emo/hardcore chick types - cute dresses and skirts over here) surprised us all by being serious headbangers!! It gave me a headache just looking at them. I was just waiting for some of them to bang their heads and be knocked out but it didn't happen thank goodness. But wow... no joke! And the barriers I mentioned, they're for the girls to hold on to while doing their headbanging thing!! Well, that's what they used them for anyway. Next up was this dance routine they did (at a heavy metal concert... yes!) and they used the barriers for that too. Amazing! Haha, it was awesome to see.

It was so strange, because I'm used to seeing big ol' scary dudes at heavy metal concerts, hairy as monkeys and scary as shit, but no, just these... girls. And the band members were well... wow! You just have to look at the pictures, I don't even know how to describe it. I had seen this stuff on pictures, but it was sooo cool to see it live. I had such a good time, I was totally full of energy after the concert, it was amazing. So that's why I wanted to share this with you!

Anyway, I'm sure another update will follow soon, about my birthday, and I have Taiko again on sunday, so enough to tell. For now, enjoy my awesome pictures and movies will follow soon, well worth waiting for mind you!

sayounara baby!
