welcome to tokyo!
In other words: I'm in Tokyo~~~~ Oh my goodness it's so great. I took the shinkansen yesterday which took me practically all day but I'm "turning Japanese" in the sense that: I slept all the way to Tokyo XD hahaha. I had a look through my books on Tokyo, attempted reading a book, but sleeping was better. So the journey was really quite easy and I was in Tokyo before I knew it (8 hours later mind you). When I got to Tokyo I was overwhelmed by the city for about 30 seconds before a big smile appeared on my face and I quite happily made my way to the hostel. I did the mix n match of JR lines and subway lines and after turning the directions to the hostel from the subway exit upside down and inside out I managed to find it (the directions are REALLY bad). Dropped off my suitcase and... went off to Shibuya!! :D
In Shibuya I met up with Michiel and Alex from Leiden Uni who are going crazy in Tokyo before going to hide on a mountain in the middle of nowhere... well, Michiel will be in Fukuoka so not so bad... sorry Alex XD Anywayyy! We were supposed to meet a whole bunch of other people who then cancelled (TIJMEN!) or who didn't know what day it was (milan...). So we met by the doggy exit and... went off to find some food! We had fun crossing the big shibuya crossing, laughed at weirdo Japanese guy in a very tight superhero suit thing doing a funny dance...

Michiel has captured it all on camera. We found an okonomiyaki/monjayaki (tokyo specialty) place where sempai Jenn did the cooking. Next time it's your turn chiel!
Wandering through Shibuya afterwards I was happily surprised with a big poster of Oguri Shun (hellooo <3). It is my mission to see him sometime while I'm in Tokyo. Likely? Not at all. Fan girl? ehm... no!? :D After a stop at the Starbucks where we did NOT find a seat with a view of Shibuya crossing and not getting a good view from the top floor (no windows) we took the train back again where I had a good little snooze in my hostel.
(for more pictures see Michiel's picture site where I'm sure more pictures will appear soon! XD HINT)
I'm afraid I love to write, so here comes today's part as well! I left my hostel in the morning and lugged my way across Tokyo to Shinjuku where I quite easily found the Sakura-House office. I spent about half an hour there reading all these documents signing a whole bunch of papers and finally getting the keys to my appartment after which they sent me on my way. By the time I got to the house (not hard to find, but up a hill!) I was exhausted!! After unpacking and finding wonderfully big built-in closets, I thought it was time to get some shopping done. Bad idea. It started POURING with rain! And I had no umbrella :( An hour later I ventured outside, ran down the hill to the station and bought an umbrella after which of course it stopped raining. I wandered around the shopping area spotting a Starbucks, various starbucks rip-offs, drug stores, a 100yen shop, Denny's, a few burger places... and no supermarket. This lady was seriously bad at explaining to me where the 2 supermarkets were, but found one none the less! Got some yummies together and went back to my room where I basically crashed and burned. I was exhausted!!
Tomorrow I'm off to get my phone (I'm borrowing a friend's phone who left it with her uncle who works in Roppongi) and then meeting Michiel and Alex again.
Tokyo: so far so good! Tomorrow I'll tell you more about the house, enough reading for an eternity here. Good night!!

hmmm ja, Oguri Shun is inderdaad erg schattig. *zwijmel* (sorry Ger ^^)
en waarom is iedereen okonomiyaki aan het eten...en ik niet :(!
Yeah for Tokyo! En dubbele yeah for Oguri Shun!
Desyou :P
Keep on postin' and I'll keep on commentin'! ^^
I don't always know what to say at the awesomeness of your adventures (ジェニファーのすごくすごい、すごすぎる東京冒険 coming soon to a theatre near you!)
Just so you know I'm drooling and have gone green with envy and miss you very much!!
