Cooking

Konnichiwa!

Finally it has cooled down a bit here. It's now 25 degrees instead of 30. We brought jumpers haha. So silly. Anyway, it's still morning so I haven't actually done anything today, but I can tell you about last night! We managed to find some cheap pots and pans (about 500 yen each - 4 euros?) and they're not half bad! This meant we could finally do some cooking. We bought some rice (we have a rice cooker) and some veggies and some ham, and just stirfried the lot, it was absolutely delicious, with some ' sukiyaki ' sauce to go with it.

That's a sort of semi-sweet soy sauce, yummie! And we even had ice cream for desert, couldn't be better. There's pictures for those interested! (see link on right hand side).

After dinner (which was quite late already) I started watching some series that my darling mummy sent me on dvd: grey's anatomy, girlmore girls and hotel babylon. I ended up with 5 people in my room all excited and realllllyty happy that my mummy sent me the series. And so as she is going to send me some every week, we can have a ' net 5 ' evening every week! (net 5 is the channel the series are on). Hehe, it was really fun.

Anyway, am now at the uni, thought we had to be here at 10 but I guess not. It said so on our schedule but they changed it or something and we hadn't quite realised. But then at least you get up at a decent time! Up next is more shopping, we still need a few things for the appartement, and I need some posters to decorate the very bare walls in my room (unless someone sends me more pictures? I always like pictures!) and cards! You all have my address? Here it is just in case:

International House room # 401
12-1 Nishi-machi
Nagasaki-city
Nagasaki
852-8043

Now you have no excuse! I don't have a phone yet, but when I do, I'll let you all know.

Oh, also, something really funny happened to me yesterday. I was walking home from the uni (by myself) and as I passed an elementary school this Japanese kid said: 'haroo' . So I said hi back, and then all of a sudden I had a group of like 10 kids following me going ' haroo haroo haroo' hahaha. Very weird.

bye byeee

x Jenn

ps: have added link to Claudia's pictures, as there's a bigger chance of me being on her pics than on my own... does that make sense? Anyway...

Oh oh oh, all the way to Japan, and still watching Net 5 ppr series :-(, very very very disapointing Jenn :p! At least switch to That '70s Show, a decent funny not-so-lameass serie.
(I own first posts:-))

Sacrilage!!! I thought rice was the food of the gods and you weren't supposed to put anything in it (not even salt). Guess the Japanese will forgive you gaijin though. Hen desu ne.

:-). Thijs, you're a ppr. Grey's anatomy rocks, although sometimes it's more like a soap(did anyone say: the episode with the bomb). Lots of greetings from a very rainy Holland. Daan

Hi Jen checked out your blog - and I can see that your making yourself right at home! Cooking Japanese already

Haven't seen 'Greys Anatomy' yet - spending way too much in real hospitals
