Hellooooow there!
I've just had my first class and I'm sooo hungry! What's the link you ask? Well, I didn't have lunch before class and now it is past 5 o'clock. So I'm hungry! Why didn't you have anything to eat? Because I met up with Kenji before class, and didn't have time to eat :)I took Richard along so he could meet Kenji, so the three of us went to a place where Kenji and Richard had something to eat and I just had a drink ( I had had breakfast, and they hadn't yet so at 12:30 they had breakfast haha). It was fun I guess, thought Richard and Kenji did most of the talking, I'm still too shy! On top of which I still can't understand the guy. He insists on talking informally, which is fine, but I'm not used to it. Anyway, I learnt LOTS of interesting words listening to their conversation. I learnt the words for: boobs, big boobs, boobs that are so big they are falling out of someone's shirt, small boobs (flat), how to say 'lets have sex' or something, and various cuss words. Thank you so much for enlightening me Richard and Kenji! Good words to know?! Nahh, it was funny, I had fun. And I do try to speak some Japanese, but it's hard.
I also had my first class today, "choukai" which is a sort of listening class. We listend to a tape and either had to fill in the blanks or answer questions on what we had just heard. Vocabulary wise I'm not doing so well, but the grammar is no problem at all. We also have to get used to the type of exercises, we didn't always know what we were supposed to do, but we'll get used to that soon enough! The Chinese and Korean students in our class ( we have a really big class!) were all here last year so are more used to the structure and stuff, they have sort of an advantage, but especially their pronunciation is really bad compared to ours. I can't really tell if our/my Japanese is better than theirs or not.
Oh, almost forgot, my box with things FINALLY arrived this morning. I was still in bed, as was everyone else so don't you dare call me lazy, when the doorbell rang and a guy called for jenifa-san (my name). So I called out " chotto matte kudasaiii " (please wait/comingggg) and jumped out of bed, but a jumper on and ran to the door. Happyyyy my box was there. So now I have more stuff to store. But at least it had arrived now.
And so now in a minute I am meeting Mariko at the supermarket (she doesnt have all the same classes so she finished a lot earlier) and then we are going to cook something together I think (the 3 of us). We'll see. And then tomorrow is busy busy! We have 'blocks' of one and a half hours here, that's 1 class. Today I had one block, but tomorrow I have 3 after each other! So that's 3 times one and a half hours with a 10 minute break in between. Well, to be honest, after the first block we have a 50 minute break because it's lunch time, but after the 2nd one we only have 10 mninutes. The classes are tiring enough because its completely in Japanese, so you really have to pay attention, and then they're really long and stuff... Hope that goes well! By the way, I hope I'm not repeating myself... I email people, do things while writing this blog, and then I lose track of what I have and haven't said yet... gomen ne?! (sorry!).
So, for now farewell, and speak to you again tomorrow (if I'm not lying on the floor in spasms from the overkill of Japanese).

If you're hungry, you should eat an apple, banana, puzzi, or tosti, works pretty well for me (-:. And is Kenji still more interested in Richard than in you? If I read what they were talking about, I would guess he would also be interested in you :p. And I think it is good your having tough classes now, after all, it is no holiday (-: (other people in this world (room) or also working hard sometimes ;-)). Well good luck with your other classes jenifa-san!
You're miryoku teki :D
Ganbare with your lessons tomorrow!
