It's not always fun and games...

" You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your fucking khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world."

Yayy a quote. I actually went through the trouble of finding one... not that it's relevant but I'll get to that later ;P

Anyway. I promised you a detailed description of the international festival I went to on sunday!

Here are the pictures:

And here is the story: It was crap. Total and utter crap. That's why there is only one picture hehe. It was so crap that after taking one picture Mariko and I left before we died of boredom and went to Deshima Wharf to have a delicious ice coffee and just generally chill in the sun by the harbour. So there! That was the highlight of my weekend. Nah just kidding. Actually, no, I'm not.

Friday night we went to Shianbashi. Someone (nobody knows who) had heard that that was supposed to be the area in Nagasaki where you could really go out. So fine, we take the tram there, walk around, and find a street with lots of lights and signs and people. That is if drunk businessmen (salary-men) can be defined as just people, they were a pain in the bottom. In general we were NOT amused by Shianbashi, seeing as that for the most part all the bars and stuff were hooker bars. Well, not hookers exactly maybe, but place where men can go to have female company for the evening, without actually doing stuff you know!? NOT my thing, especially as we were being stared at a LOT. Seriously not fun. We walked around some, getting very annoyed by someone who shall remain nameless asking random people " what is popular ". I mean, you're surrounded by hooker bars, do NOT ask what is popular, please. The izakaya we went to afterwards wasn't a big success either.
The only good thing about that night was my chocolate flavoured bread with whipped cream and fruit. I was just very amused about the fact that that existed :P

Saturday didn't bring much more. Stayed in bed until late being homesick and then in the afternoon decided to go to the shopping centre to get a few bits and pieces. Ended up buying a scarf, phone strap and a pair of very much needed slippers (floor cold and stuff). After shopping just went home and did nothing all evening :)Can't even really remember what I did that night... I was on the phone with Luuk quite long (<3), then made dinner (pasta with my own special home made all by myself pasta sauce which was VERY yummy) and by that time it was late I think... Sunday got up early for the festival, went, came home, did homework all afternoon (aren't I good?) and then after dinner watched gilmore girls with Mariko and Claudia! How exciting!!! yayyy

SO yeah, another week has started, nothing special planned, so ... see ya!

Jenn

ps: almost forgot: they cut off our water today without a lot of advance warning (I saw the notice at 9:55 am... they were going to start working on the reservoir at 10) so I hope I will be able to flush the toilet when I get back....

pps: pictures are under ' 28-29okt'. Enjoy!

Dave Moss: What's your name?
Blake: Fuck you!! That's my name!!

Yup Fight Club, you are the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world. As written by Chuck Palahniuk, as performed in the film by Brad Pitt playing Tyler Durden, but maybe it was actually Edward Norton all along...

Frutsu sando (cocoa)? You're right, unbelievable! But: Natural and Healthly? - Very unnatural if you ask me. And “Please make your best choice of fresh and ...(illegible) sandwich” – well if you must!!! But you needed it Jennifer!!!! Like the Nightmare before Christmas Slippers too!!!
