Quick update

Just a quick for those who care XD

As you may or may not know this week is the Tokyo Game Show (hereafter TGS) and so lots of Dutch gaming companies are around. Today in cooperation with the Dutch embassy there was a matchmaking session followed by a reception ("borrel"). I helped organise this reception and was eventually sort of in charge of getting it set up. The location had been booked by a colleague but it was far from ideal let alone representative for an embassy reception. Anyway, with lots of help from Kaneko-san (Atsuko) and lots of running back and forth and round about we got the room looking half decent! And the reception itself was a big succes, so yay for us! Now, however, I am totally exhausted. Tomorrow I'm off to Chiba to visit the TGS itself (yay!), I'll let you guys know how Streetfighter 4 was (j/k).

On a side note, it was painfully obvious today how important it is to know what you're talking about. I could not keep up a conversation for more than 5 minutes with any of the Dutch gaming companies as soon as they found out I didn't know much about gaming. None of them could be bothered to stop talking in acronyms and very rudely excused themselves as fast as they could. Geez. I'm trying to take an interest in what they do, they could at least have the decency to take an interest in my stories about the embassy, srsly. I guess playing sims and solitair just isn't good enough huh ;)
