It was basically all introductions and an endless series of bowing, shaking hands and not remembering names. My ' mentor' Jurrien seems really really nice, very internationally oriented person, and the rest of the staff seem pretty awesome too! There's about 5 other people in my department, maybe 50 people in total at the embassy, with a nice mix of Japanese and Dutch people. I even met Flip de Heer, the ambassador today, who ALSO seems really nice. Today was nice :P Including the weather, it was almost cool today, yay!
Anyway, after a lot of introducing Jurrien and I went out for lunch (there's no cafeteria or anything) and the one of the wonderfully ikemen waiters brought me this:

The rest of the day was spent discussing what sort of things I could possible do at the embassy, there was some really cool things. I might get to go to the Tokyo Game Show, the Nano-technology exhibition, an Oilily fashion show... and of course we are working on getting me started on some research for my thesis even! I am very excited, and look forward to doing some real work tomorrow :D

Sounds great! It's pretty exciting finally being there, isn't it? Have fun, the people are really nice and I'm sure they'll do their best to get you started on your research properly!

Sidenote: I burned myself again! :D Deze keer was t de stoom van de waterkoker *ik keek niet goed toen ik hem uit wilde klikken* Kon ik fijn even naar de ehbo post lopen op de RAI... Accident proniness strikes again! Tis maar een kleintje dus over een paar dagen zie je er helemaal nix van. I am Burn-sama! En queen van de biogaas :3
